remained jittery ahead of key economic data as well as the 
retail price index-based inflation for the month of November is 
slated for release post market hours. Investors are also on the 
lookout for Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data which will 
be released after market hours.




Further, TCS announced that it has been selected by the
Improvement Service to implement a Citizen Account Service 
for Scottish citizens.


Tata Motors slipped nearly 4.6% on reports that its UK
subsidiary JLR expanded its capex guidance which is likely to 
strain the company's cash flows in near term.

INDIAN MARKET OUTLOOK - 12 DECEMBER 2013

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK ended lower amid a volatile
trading session, as investors turned cautious ahead of the
consumer price inflation data for November due for release
tomorrow. Further, markets shrugged off the November trade
data. Tata Motors dropped 3.35 percent to Rs 377.40 apiece as
its UK subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) increased capex
guidance for FY15. 

Further, Shares of State Bank of India fell 5.25 percent in two
sessions to Rs 1,790 on equity dilution fears. 

 Elder Pharmaceutical has surged 12% to end at Rs 320 on
back of heavy volumes on the bourses. The company said it
has been exploring various options to reduce its deb.

INDIAN MARKET OUTLOOK - 11 DECEMBER 2013

INDIAN BENCHMARKS likely to further consolidate today and is seen opening lower tracking lacklustre, as benchmarks came under selling pressure yesterday as investors booked profits at higher levels.

FURTHER, The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has slapped Coal India Ltd (CIL) with a penalty of Rs 1,773 crore for allegedly abusing dominant position in supply of the dry fuel. Heineken upped its stake in Vijay Mallya’s United Breweries Ltd, which owns the lucrative Kingfisher beer brand, through the open market purchase.

Trend in FII flows: The FIIs were net buyers of Rs.395 cr in the cash segment on Tuesday while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers of Rs. 628 cr, as per the provisional figures released by the NSE.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS set to open strong, to ride on bets on the outcome of the state election results, foreign inflows and better-than-expected economic data. India's L&T evaluates alternatives for monetisation of certain assets of L&T IDPL.

FUTHER, ONGC will be under pressure after Gujarat High Court has directed the company to pay dues worth Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 6,000 crore to the state government towards differences in royalty of crude the PSU has extracted since 2008. Oil prices rose in Asian trade as dealers welcomed upbeat manufacturing data in China, the world's top energy consumer.

INDIAN STOCK MARKET – 31 AUGUST 2013

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARK rose over 1% in a volatile session, marking its highest close in nearly two weeks as blue chip shares surged tracking a rebound in the rupee for a second day, ahead of April-June GDP data. Ebbing prospects of a U.S.-led military strike against Syria were also seen helping shares even as foreign investors sold over $1 billion worth of shares in the previous 10 sessions through Thursday.
Further, Software exporters gained to record highs on improving U.S. business prospects.
Tech Mahindra Ltd rose 0.7 percent after Morgan Stanley resumed coverage of its shares at “overweight” and a target price of 1,650 rupees, saying they remain undervalued.

Most Asian markets traded higher following a raft of regional economic data points.
European stocks were sharply, ahead of euro zone economic reports as fears over a potential military intervention in Syria by the U.S. and its allies weighed, sparking losses in commodity-linked stocks.
